The MFM Global Registry has published a computational study on the Multilayer Flow Modulator device, used in the treatment of symptomatic chronic type B aortic dissection.

This study has been published in the Journal of Vascular Surgery.

The study concluded that the SMFM reduces the false lumen wall pressure through flow modulation. It preserves patency of all branches, minimizing the incidence of short-term complications.

The SMFM is a valuable option in managing primary symptomatic chronic type B aortic dissection, without midterm complications.
